| 5 | Looks to have sailed from London, England 1913 to Quebec, Canada. Source: findmypast.com (migrations) - findmypast.com lists his birth year as 1887, though I think this is an error. The "7" probably is a "1" | Clarence Elliott Rutland

| 6 | Still need to confirm where David William Rutland fits. Placing him as the son of Mary Rebecca Rutland is based on the birth records where his mother is listed as Mary Rebekah (most likely Rebecca) Rutland. There is no father listed. A William Rutland is reported missing from Lorne House (this is an orphage near Invercargill)in 18th Feb 1907,his age is stated as 10 1/2 years which corresponds to David William Rutland's birth in 10th Oct 1895. It makes sense as he is a boy born out of wed-lock. | David William Rutland

| 7 | Glentanner Ship: 610 tons Captain: Benjamin Bruce Surgeon Superintendent: Sailed London 11th June 1857 - arrived Lyttelton 3rd October 1857 The ship Glentanner.....had a very rough experience on the voyage out to Lyttelton in 1857. She sailed from Gravesend on June 11th, and experienced fairly good weather until August 20th. The ship then ran into a very heavy gale, and was thrown on her bean ends. The mainmast-head gave way also the mizzen topmast and jibboom, which carried away the foretop gallant mast and foretopsail yard. Nearly all the sails were carried away. When the masts went down the ship righted herself, but it was not until the following day that she could be got before the wind, and then she could only spread her foresail and foretop mast staysail. By this accident one of the seamen was killed. The Glentanner brought 163 passengers... | 11 | 1841 UK Census has Joseph's age as 65, though 1841 census data for ages was rounded to nearest 5 years. In 1851 census his age is 78. This will be more accurate. His place of birth in 1851 census says Alcomb, Devonshire. I think this is a mistake. The 1841 census indicates by a "Y" that he was born in the same county where the census took place (Buckinghamshire) | Joseph Rutland
